C.1 A MOTION TO OPEN AND HOLD a Public Hearing for an Ordinance in Amendment of Chapter 70 of the Code of Ordinances of the Town of Narragansett, Rhode Island, entitled "Taxation & Finance".

A MOTION TO CLOSE the public hearing.

 

C.3 A MOTION TO OPEN AND HOLD a Public Hearing on several text revisions to Chapter 731 of the Code of the Town of Narragansett entitled "Zoning", for the purpose of complying with General Assembly mandates enacted in the 2023 legislative session.

A MOTION TO CLOSE the public hearing.

 

C.5 A MOTION TO OPEN AND HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING on several text revisions to Chapter 731 of the Code of the Town of Narragansett entitled "Zoning", for the purpose of adapting to and accommodating the numerous General Assembly mandates enacted in the 2023 legislative session.

 

C.6

A MOTION TO CLOSE the public hearing.

 

C.7 A MOTION TO RECEIVE and FILE the Planning Board's recommendations in regard to mandatory and discretionary zoning amendments responding to recent changes to the State enabling laws.

NOTE:  Public comment will NOT be taken on matters involving open litigation.

CONSENT AGENDA

 

All items listed on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine or have been previously reviewed by the Town Council, and will be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the General Order of Business, and considered in its normal sequence on the Agenda.

D.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the one (1)-year renewal of SANS Institute End User Security Awareness Training services from SANS Institute, in the amount of $6,480.00.

 

D.2 MOTION TO APPROVE a request from Rhode Races & Events Inc., to conduct the annual Ocean State Rhode Race marathon, half marathon and 5K Road Race to be held on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm subject to state and local regulations.

 

D.3 A MOTION TO APPROVE the waiver of interest for taxpayers in accordance with ordinance Section 70-90 "Waiver of interest on overdue quarterly property tax and utility payments."

 

D.4 MOTION TO APPROVE the request from Soldiers Surf (formerly VetSurf) to conduct two (2) free surfing events for disabled veterans at the Town Beach on Saturday, June 8, 2024, and Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm subject to state and local regulations.

 

D.5 MOTION TO APPROVE the request from the national organization "Life Rolls On" to host a surf therapy event on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Narragansett Town Beach, subject to state and local regulations.

 

D.6 A MOTION TO APPROVE the annual renewal of Coastline Employee Assistance Program services for 2024 in the amount of $4,255.

 

D.7 A MOTION TO APPROVE the request from Vincent F. Ragosta, Jr. Esq. to amend the terms of his engagement for legal services in respect to labor relations and employment matters by increasing his hourly rate to $225.00.
